WELCOME TO USSSA BASEBALL IN THE NORTHWEST
- Only USSSA tracks your team points for ranking local, regional and National. All events are entered immediately after the event (during in most cases). Please visit WWW.NWUSSSA.COM and scroll down and select USA Baseball results for an example of a brief summary and team stats of the Labor day tourney.
- Insurance - Teams may participate in any USSSA event with any policy they like or with no policy at all. We encourage your team to have insurance for your various baseball needs; however, every USSSA tournament Director pays for an event policy covering all participants.
- WARNING: Your players and coaches are at considerable risk when playing any AAU events! The new Oregon Directors inability to pay sanction fees and require all teams to be AAU registered can void your coverage should your child be injured. Also teams are not eligible to advance from non-sanctioned events, without the risk of protest by another team.
- On the topic of insurance; by comparison: (League Insurance gets as low as $6.00 per player)
Formerly the AAU Baseball Commissioner for all District West of the Mississippi let me point out these major team expense differences: USSSA Insurance $130 to $175 depending on age covers - 20 players and five coaches endless substitutions can be made with no additional fees, also covers scorekeepers, and sponsors. AAU Insurance doesn't exist you must buy a membership which includes insurance. So as a baseball player you are paying to be a basketball player, volleyball player, gymnast, wrestler . . . AAU membership is not baseball specific. So the same amount of players and Coaches above, at $14 per player and $16 for coaches not including the mandatory club membership and third party insurance requirements is $360.00 for any age. This figure will be considerably higher should you may make roster changes throughout tryouts because each player must pay the $14 per player fee. - USSSA events always provide balls
- Awards - Will always be quality, onsite, and formally presented.
- Umpires - Two umpires (professionally dressed, certified or well trained ). One umpire in the 10U maybe 11U division (could be two). All Championship games will be two or more umpires.
- Less than four teams in a division, our tourney directors are required to inform traveling teams of this fact.
- Combined divisions will be discussed with the coaches prior to the event.
- Schedules posted five days or more prior to an event.
- Prompt refunds on rain outs.
- Open door policy with your state director should you have any needs or concerns.
- Public recognition - no other sanction will give you the post event recognition like USSSA WWW.NWUSSSA.COM.This includes team stats, team pictures, player pictures, team ranking, player ranking, player stats. Note player stats must be entered by a coach or parent.
